Research interests: zoology, ecology, nature conservation, protected areas.

Plokhikh Roman Vyacheslavovich

Doctor of sciences in geography, professor at the Department of recreation geography and tourism of the geography and environmental sciences faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a member of the of IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management (CEM) and a member of the IUCN/CEM Specialist Group "Holarctic Steppes".

Research interests: geoecology, landscape science, biogeography, biochemistry, geography of soils, planning and prediction in nature management and territorial development, economy of local communities, geoinformatics and digital mapping, thematic and atlas mapping.

Smelansky Ilya Eduardovich

Steppe Projects Leader in Sibecocenter LLC, Novosibirsk, Russia, a small consulting company working in conservation. Founder and permanent Editor of the Steppe Bulletin, the only one Russian-language periodical on conservation, restoration, and sustainable use of the steppe biome, founded in 1998. Currently is a member of the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management and an expert in the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), candidate of science, a member of the IUCN/CEM Specialist Group "Holarctic Steppes".

Research interests: study and conservation of steppe ecosystems and several charismatic steppe species (like steppe eagle and the Pallas’s cat) in Russia and Kazakhstan.

 

Perezhogin Yury Viktorovich

Director of research center for the study of biodiversity of Kostanay State Pedagogical Institute, candidate of science, professor of Kostanay State Pedagogical Institute, academician of International Academy of Informatization.

Research interests: floristics, systematics, rare and endangered plant species.

 

Sukhov Mikhail Vasilyevich

Deсan of Natural-mathematical faculty of Kostanay State Pedagogical Institute, candidate of science, assistant professor of Kostanay State Pedagogical Institute, corresponding member of International Academy of Informatization.

Research interests: Computer science and computer facilities, information systems, databases.
